NÉGYOSZ is the Hungarian Association of Plant-Based Food Producers and Distributors, established in November 2022 as an advocacy organisation for companies producing and marketing plant-based foods in Hungary. It brings together domestic and multinational market players, as well as supporters who share its goals, with a strong focus on high-quality plant-based foods, especially dairy and meat alternatives. The organisation’s work centers on promoting the wider adoption of plant-based products and meals across the food industry and among the general public, while also building policy and public support for forward-looking improvements to Hungarian food regulation, particularly in public catering and official dietary guidelines. Its mission combines advocacy, awareness-raising, publication of up-to-date scientific findings, and sustainability work. NÉGYOSZ actively participates in professional and social debates related to livestock farming and the development of a more sustainable food supply, and it aims to increase the recognition and role of plant-based proteins in the Hungarian diet. The association also runs the OkosFehérje (SmartProtein) campaign, through which it shares practical information about plant-based protein sources and supports healthier, more sustainable eating choices. The team is made up of people with experience in food regulation, sustainability, business, nutrition, advocacy, and plant-based product development. Its leadership includes a president, managing director, vice president, board members, a secretary, and a professional director for OkosFehérje. Several team members are founders, operators, consultants, or dietitians with direct hands-on experience in the plant-based sector, which gives the association both professional credibility and industry insight.
