Bioeconomy Cluster

Bioeconomy Cluster promotes innovation in bioeconomy by networking innovative businesses with R&D organizations, facilitating cooperation and information exchange among its members, which include representatives from the agricultural and food sectors, research, education, regional governments, and the third sector. The cluster encompasses not only agriculture but also other biological sectors, aiming to connect practice with science and support innovation. It also represents its members, promoting joint projects to foster development, innovate, transfer knowledge, and address specific challenges faced by members. The cluster seeks international cooperation, particularly with EU countries, while expanding its reach to distant markets. Membership in various European cluster platforms enhances its networking and coordination capabilities with bioeconomy stakeholders. In 2023, the Bioeconomy Cluster achieved its third certification from the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis, earning the Bronze Label of Cluster Excellence, and was recognized as one of the most advanced clusters in Slovakia by the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency in the “developed cluster” category.
