Foodhub NRW is an innovation platform and community that connects stakeholders in the agricultural and food industry to develop future-oriented solutions. The platform is aimed at everyone in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) who are rethinking the areas of agriculture, nutrition, and food. Given the current challenges, innovative approaches, particularly those driven by digital technologies, are crucial for the future viability of the industry in Germany. Foodhub NRW aims to achieve sustainability goals such as climate protection, biodiversity, and the reduction of environmental damage. It seeks solutions to secure food supplies for 10 billion people, reduce food waste, implement a circular economy, and create resilient supply chains. The platform promotes a diversity of ideas, whether through regenerative or precision agriculture, alternative proteins from bioreactors, or the revival of native pulses. Foodhub NRW monitors trends and technologies along the entire value chain and brings together innovation drivers such as start-ups, scientists, farmers, SMEs, corporations, technology companies, and political actors. Through its online platform and events, it offers space for the exchange of ideas on innovation topics, creating transparency and networking opportunities. Regional and thematic working groups foster deeper exchanges, while investor circles connect startups with potential partners. Political breakfasts and collaborations with state and national initiatives support startups and scale-ups in their internationalization. Foodhub NRW connects all stakeholders in the agricultural and food industry, from the field to the store counter, to jointly develop future-oriented solutions.
