STICHTING NEDERLANDS BAKKERIJ CENTRUM is the knowledge and advice centre for the bakery sector in the Netherlands. It offers various knowledge articles and services to support the industry. Currently, Dutch wheat is minimally used in daily bread production, as baking wheat is largely imported due to pricing issues despite the availability of infrastructure and knowledge. The foundation emphasizes the importance of recruiting and retaining young talent in the bakery industry, which has led to the launch of the New Generation campaign by Bakbekwaam. The next Bakkersvak & IJs-Vak event is scheduled for 9, 10, and 11 March 2025, with a registration link available. Additionally, 'Broodje Elvis,' a unique brioche sandwich, has won the first NK Broodbeleggen competition.
