Insect protein IVS was established in 2016 by Niels Krogsgaard Otten. The idea behind it was to produce sustainable insects in the Nordic climate. It wasn't far from idea to action, and the production of Black Solder Fly (black soldier flies) was started at a new insect production facility in 2016. Today, we still produce the Black Soldier Fly at our facility on the island of Als. Interest in quality insects has increased and so have our ambitions. We will deliver sustainable insects of the best quality and introduce Denmark to edible insects. Besides the black solider fly larvae, InsektProtein also sells grasshoppers, crickets, buffalo larvae and mealworms. We are part of the Danske Insekt Netværk (DIN), a network of professionals who work with insects and where professional experience is exchanged.
