About Canopea

Canopea is a politically independent and pluralist environmental federation based in Wallonia, Belgium. Founded in 1971, it brings together more than 130 member associations whose activities range from the local level to the international level. Its role is to defend the consideration of environmental and sustainability issues across society, while amplifying the voice of the environmental association sector.

The federation works across a broad set of themes, including agriculture, food, biodiversity, climate, energy, mobility, resources, health and environment, society, territory, and tourism. It positions itself as a reference organization for environmental advocacy in Wallonia, combining collective expertise, critical monitoring of public policy, and concrete proposals to support an ecological and solidarity-based transition.
