Donau Soja Association

Donau Soja is a European, not-for-profit membership organisation working to build a sustainable, safe and independent protein supply across Europe. We connect more than 330 members in 33 countries – from farmers and processors to retailers, researchers, and policymakers – united by a shared commitment to sustainable, non-GM soya production and sourcing. From our base in Vienna, with regional offices in Serbia, Ukraine, and Moldova, we bring together a network that spans the entire soya value chain across Europe. What the company does Donau Soja supports its members and partners in transitioning towards a more sustainable, safe and European protein supply. Through networking, knowledge exchange, and cross-border collaboration, we strengthen the European soya and protein value chain – connecting actors from production to consumption across 33 countries. Who makes up the team Our members include farmers, companies across the value chain, research institutions, civil society organisations, and public-sector stakeholders. This diversity is our strength – it means we build consensus across the sector, not just within one part of it. Mission and values Our mission is to help partners and members drive change that addresses social, environmental, and economic challenges in soya production and consumption. We work to improve efficiency, fairness, and sustainability across European food and feed protein value chains – not as a top-down institution, but as a community. Unique aspects What sets us apart is our pan-European, multi-stakeholder model that connects industry, science, civil society, and public actors around a shared protein strategy. Our focus on European non-GM soya and our role in building an independent European protein supply distinguishes us from more general agricultural organisations.
