Grassa BV is focused on the valorization of plant streams through bioraffinage, maximizing the potential of grass and crops by producing high-quality, protein-rich livestock feed and finding beneficial uses for by-products. Using a mobile refining machine, Grassa processes fresh grass from pastures, agricultural by-products, invasive aquatic plants, and natural grass from nature reserves. The refining process yields four key products: fibers, protein, phosphate, and 'whey' (juice). Grassa’s innovative technology unlocks proteins, sugars, and minerals for sustainable livestock feeding, providing environmental benefits. Through natural methods of pressing, heating, and filtering, Grassa enhances the nutritional value of grass, addressing challenges in agriculture while contributing to various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Moreover, in the Netherlands, where over 30% of the land consists of grassland, this crop proves to be highly nutritious, offering 2.5 times more protein per hectare than soy. Cows, as the primary consumers of grass, do not efficiently utilize its nutrients, with 50-75% being lost as manure and gases. Grassa aims to enhance the value of 'ordinary' grass for greater profitability and sustainability, inviting collaboration to make the grass greener for everyone.
