FoodDelta Zeeland
FoodDelta Zeeland is a knowledge and innovation network for the food sector in Zeeland, the southwestern delta region of the Netherlands. It brings together companies, knowledge institutions, and public bodies to accelerate innovation and transition across the regional food cluster. The network positions Zeeland as a practical testbed and demonstration region for future food systems. Its work is organized around four ambitions: Protein Delta, Career Delta, Smart Delta, and Health Delta, covering sustainable proteins, talent development, digitalization and robotics, and healthier food. FoodDelta Zeeland is coordinated by Bureau FDZ and the Stichting FoodDelta Zeeland, which together facilitate collaboration, develop innovation programs, and make the network’s activities visible to attract more participants. Core Values Collaboration : The network is built on joint action across companies, education, government, and research to shape the future of food together. Innovation : FoodDelta Zeeland emphasizes practical innovation, experimentation, and the development of new solutions for the food chain. Sustainability : Many of its ambitions and projects focus on more sustainable food production, resource use, and regional resilience. Unique Aspects Regional food testbed : Zeeland is presented as a real-world proeftuin, or test and demonstration area, where food innovations can be developed and shown in practice. Triple-helix structure : The network explicitly combines business, education, and government, giving it a broad collaborative base. Four-ambition model : FoodDelta Zeeland organizes its work around Protein, Career, Smart, and Health Delta, creating a structured innovation agenda. Dedicated network bureau : Bureau FDZ acts as the operating arm that organizes, catalyzes, and facilitates the network’s activities. Stichting FDZ governance : The foundation’s stated purpose is to promote innovation in the Zeeland food sector through integrated cooperation among stakeholders.
