NOI Techpark is South Tyrol's science and technology park, established in Bolzano in October 2017 as part of an urban redevelopment initiative. Managed by NOI Spa, an In-House company of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, it hosts four research institutes (Fraunhofer Italia, Eurac Research, ClimateHouse, and Research Centre Laimburg), four Faculties of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, 40 scientific laboratories, 40 companies, and 30 start-ups. This innovation hub emphasizes collaboration among companies, research institutes, and the university, aiming for sustainable development across four technology fields: Green, Food & Health, Digital, and Automotive/Automation. The park offers various services including a Start-up Incubator, prototyping labs, and innovation management, along with hands-on programs like the Alpha Innovation Method to help companies create future solutions. Additionally, initiatives such as the Lab Bonus co-finance project costs for local businesses, and the Maker Space fosters collaboration and creative problem-solving. NOI Techpark's focus on research extends to energy systems, sustainable buildings, water technologies, and precision health services linked to natural processes and ingredients. Digital innovation is also a cornerstone, with research in IoT, Open Data Hub, and Artificial Intelligence. The automotive sector is particularly prominent in South Tyrol, with local industrial companies investing in R&D and envisioning a future of sustainable manufacturing and mobility solutions. NOI Techpark is committed to driving regional transformation while addressing global trends, hosting various events like the IASP European Division Conference in May 2025. With ongoing activities, workshops, and events, it remains a dynamic hub for innovation. The park is expanding, with a new campus developing in Brunico, fostering a collaborative environment towards shared goals.
