The Future of Food Institute is a leading expert in sustainable food marketing, consumer research, and innovation, dedicated to helping sustainable food companies innovate faster and communicate effectively through accessible consumer insights derived from qualitative and quantitative research. The team is led by Durk, an experienced market research architect, alongside consumer researcher Eva, insights specialist Suvi, and sustainability advocate Lauren, all of whom bring unique expertise and perspectives to the organization. Founded in 2018 by Durk Bosma and Simone Lamers, the institute noticed that many efforts to improve sustainability in the food chain faltered due to poor consumer adoption and a lack of understanding of consumer motivations. By offering clear insights, the Institute aims to empower consumers to make sustainable food choices. The organization operates internationally, working with mission-driven companies and non-profits that focus on positive societal and environmental impact. Future of Food Institute also engages with students through its School of Trends and offers part-time assistant roles to foster interest in consumer research and sustainability. They partner with various organizations, such as Al Terego (a branding agency) and Food Cabinet (a communications bureau), to enhance their offerings.
