BioScienz is a biotechnology company founded in 2011 and established a lab in 2014, located in an industrial area of Breda. Initially a consulting firm, it has evolved into a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and Solutions Provider, specializing in contract research and fermentation services for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The company focuses on strain improvement and downstream processing, operating a 500 m² state-of-the-art facility with fermenter capacities ranging from 0.25L to 300L. BioScienz develops new technologies based on microbial fermentation and offers a broad toolbox that includes Molecular Biology, Fermentation, Analytical tools, and Downstream Processing technologies. It employs both classical strain improvement methods and high-throughput rDNA technologies, utilizing proprietary platform technologies involving bacteria, yeast, fungi, vectors, and fermentation and DSP protocols. Additionally, BioScienz serves as an incubator for proprietary technologies and, as of January 1, 2020, has a spin-off company, The Protein Brewery B.V., which commercializes protein products developed through its fermentation technologies.
