About Agroecology In Action (AiA)

Agroecology In Action (AiA) is the French-speaking Belgian platform of the agroecology movement. Created in 2016, it brings together around 40 organisations from the production, health, environment, economic, and social sectors to advocate for the transition of food systems toward agroecology and solidarity.

AiA positions itself as a broad, cross-sector movement rather than a single-issue association. It works to connect organisations and expertise, build shared capacity, and develop systemic advocacy rooted in field realities so that the transition it promotes is both just and realistic.

Core Values

• Agroecological transition: AiA promotes agroecology as a global transformation project for food systems, spanning production, consumption, land management, and political coherence.
• Social justice: Its work emphasizes fair incomes, dignified working conditions, access to quality food for all, and the defence of food sovereignty and human rights.
• Environmental resilience: AiA links agroecology to biodiversity regeneration, protection of natural resources, and resistance to pollution and commodification of common goods.
• Collective action: The movement is built on collaboration across sectors and on the idea that structural change requires shared expertise, mutual support, and coordinated advocacy.
