Fiber foods

Fiber Foods is a company specializing in dehydrated jackfruit, marketed as PrimeJack®, sourced from family farmers in rural East Africa. The product serves as a plant-based ingredient to promote reduced meat consumption. Founded in 2019 as Business Lab Uganda by Inez van Oord and Ineke Aquarius, and supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Kampala, Fiber Foods aims to create scalable, gender-friendly value chains, enhancing financial stability and resilience to climate change for smallholder farmers. The company's first dried jackfruit was developed with technical guidance from Team Tastemakers, leading to the establishment of Fiber Foods in 2021. The company is also developing a new policy platform for public access to all policies. It is backed by investor PeakBridge, which focuses on innovative FoodTech companies improving human nutrition and the food value chain.
