Innovation Origins

Innovation Origins is a European platform focused on innovation, start-ups, and technologies that will shape the future. It operates IO+, an independent journalistic platform where Dutch innovators come together. The platform includes a Sunday newsletter reflecting on weekly developments, initiated by cartoonist Albert Jan Rasker. Acknowledging the low representation of women in the Dutch start-up ecosystem, with only 10 percent of founders being women and their funding significantly less than that of men, Innovation Origins supports initiatives like the Momentum program, aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs. Additionally, the platform addresses biases in AI systems, which tend to favor male-related outcomes, exemplified by the creation of Missjourney to combat this issue. Innovation Origins remains focused on highlighting efforts to tackle contemporary challenges.
