The Praktijkcentrum voor Precisielandbouw is dedicated to accelerating the adoption and implementation of precision agriculture (PL) in the Netherlands, aiming to harness the benefits of PL on a larger scale. Research indicates that current adoption rates, particularly involving site-specific measurements and variable cultivation methods, are limited. To promote wider uptake, the center emphasizes the need for applied knowledge, research, and innovation, functioning as an independent hub for practitioners. Key initiatives include the launch of the Precision Academy by Jacob van den Borne, offering training for all participants throughout the agricultural year. Interested individuals can receive information about the program, which commences in February 2023. The facility also features test fields with official airport status for conducting research with drones, ensuring safer operations with certified drone pilots. Upcoming lectures on soil life and manure management are scheduled for farmers and contractors on February 7 and 22, 2023. These sessions will provide practical tools for attendees to apply on their own plots. The precision farming pilot project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund, the Dutch government, and the province of Noord-Brabant under OPZuid.
