At GRO Together, the focus is on the very tasty, versatile and circularly cultivated oyster mushroom. Delicious products for vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians are made from this, such as bitterballen, croquettes, ragout rolls, carpaccio, chips and burgers. The circular process starts with the coffee bean with which a cup of coffee is made. What remains as a raw material, or coffee grounds, we collect via existing return transports from wholesalers and use for the cultivation of our oyster mushrooms. Oyster mushrooms are low in calories and fat, and rich in minerals, vitamins and fibres. In addition, they are known as true flavour enhancers in the kitchen. The fleshy structure of oyster mushrooms makes them a suitable alternative to meat. You do not need kilos of feed and litres of water for them, which makes them very sustainable. The oyster mushrooms are used for tasty products that are available in restaurants, cafés, caterers and supermarkets, among others.
