Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd. (Nissui) is a marine products company based in Japan, established in 1911, with annual revenues of US$5.1 billion in 2014. It is a commercial fishing and marine product procurement corporation, aiming to establish a global supply chain of marine products. Nissui is the second-largest company of its kind in Japan, following Maruha Nichiro Holdings, and owns Gorton's, a US frozen seafood company. The company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the Nikkei 225 index. Its main competitors include Maruha Nichiro and Kyokuyo Co., Ltd. In 2005, Nissui divested its whaling fleet amid controversy. As of 2013, it operates 61 subsidiaries and 44 associated companies across various regions including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
