Fou Food Lab

Fou Food Lab is a food technology company that focuses on researching and developing food products from recipe to scale — with its main focus on fermented products. Fou Food Lab is a one-woman company run by me, Ivana Mik. I am a creative food scientist that can help you develop the product of your dreams. Do you want to develop a new product or improve what you already have? Don't hesitate to reach out . My background is both theoretical and practical. I learned the hard-core science during my masters in Food Biotechnology and Biorefinery at Wageningen University. Hands-on experience was drilled into my system at the fermentation lab of restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark. My experience ranges from start-ups using very limited resources to collaborations with multinationals in which I worked on highly demanding technological challenges. Besides lab-related experience, I worked in internationally in both developed and developing countries, researching and designing (fermented) food products and processes and supply chains. Travelling is a part of my job that I enjoy a lot, and it helped me in becoming a better communicator across cultures. I also work on other creative projects around food . Currently I am working on a food fermentation podcast for chefs, scientists and other enthusiasts and I host a 6-weekly fermentation club in the Markt Centraal (Amsterdam)!
