The Protein Community

The Protein Community (TPC) is a global platform dedicated to the protein transition, focusing on ready-made plant-based, vegan, and vegetarian solutions. As the first and largest community of its kind, TPC connects ingredient suppliers, food manufacturers, and various stakeholders, including over 150 partners and an international network of 400+ entrepreneurs. Since 2017, TPC has facilitated the launch and scale-up of over 200 new products and technologies, driving innovation in the application of plant-based ingredients. The community includes diverse entities like farmers, ingredient producers, retailers, and government agencies, and emphasizes collaboration across the value chain. TPC predicts emerging market trends such as hybrid solutions and fermentation while empowering partners through insights and tools shared at events and communication channels. It fosters partnerships through a Request Partnership Form and offers resources like the Protein Transition Map, which outlines over 500 organizations involved in the protein transition in the Netherlands. Initiatives like the Bean Deal agreement and the Co-fresh pilot case seek to improve the economic viability of plant-based proteins and stimulate local production and consumption, ensuring both environmental and economic benefits. Additionally, TPC recognizes changemakers through the Golden Bean Award, symbolizing inspiration and connection in the alternative protein sector. Opportunities to retrofit existing facilities for plant-based processing are also provided, highlighting the market's rapid growth and potential for new business ventures.
