Regio Foodvalley
Regio Foodvalley is a regional cooperation framework in the Netherlands, bringing together eight municipalities, educational and knowledge institutions, businesses, and other public and private partners. It positions itself as a top agri-food region where science, business, and research meet, with Wageningen University & Research as the region’s knowledge hub. The organization works to strengthen the business climate and the quality of the living environment in a fast-growing region. Its long-term ambition is to remain a European top region in agri-food by 2030, with a focus on innovation, responsible growth, and a future-proof economy. Large-scale regional cooperation : Regio Foodvalley is a framework of cooperation across eight municipalities and around 380,000 residents, giving it a broad territorial and institutional base. Part of FoodNL : It is one of four regions in FoodNL, which describes itself as the largest contiguous and most innovative food production region in Europe. Backed by a national-regional investment deal : Regional Deal Foodvalley II involves the Dutch central government and the region each investing 25 million euros over four years to improve regional quality of life and economic conditions.
