De Venik (United Dutch Insect Growers) is the trade association that brings together growers of insects (crickets, locusts, mealworms, BSF) to market insects for consumption in collaboration, for both feed and food. We call eating insects a fancy word: entomophagy. The association is committed to marketing insects as an alternative protein source as a joint Dutch quality product. This product is food safe and is grown in accordance with the guidelines of the General Food Law. Venik provides information and is a discussion partner for knowledge institutions, government and media. Venik stimulates research and seeks collaboration with knowledge institutions, promotes knowledge exchange, develops new products in cooperation and builds a mutual strategy to conquer both the Dutch and international markets. Venik does not represent commercial interests for individual companies. In other words: we are building a strong Dutch insect industry!
