Navus Ventures is an independent private investment fund. We invest in unique high-tech and sustainable start-ups and scale-ups that drive the transitions in food and energy. In addition to a financial contribution, Navus Ventures adds hands-on value by actively sharing its knowledge, network and experience. Navus Ventures B.V. (“Navus”) is a venture capital investment fund focused on high-tech and sustainable start-ups and scale-ups, part of a family office and affiliated with Lely (farming innovators). Since its inception in 2013, Navus has invested in a wide range of sectors and now focuses primarily on the ongoing transitions in food and energy. As a family funded VC, Navus is not subject to investment or exit pressures, we invest in a typical VC setup as well as for longer terms, and we have a simple governance that allows quick decisions. Navus draws on the network and knowledge of the Lely family business, with a long tradition in high-tech product development and successfully bringing innovations to market (but does not serve the strategy of the Lely family business). Our approach is hands-on and pragmatic, as an independent fund we can respond well to changing situations and switch quickly and we guide our investments as an active shareholder with short lines to management to support them strategically and operationally. We value transparency and honesty in our relationships with start-ups and co-investors.
